As a Principal Finance Officer, you will provide high level financial support and advice to the Manager, Vendor Partnerships and Business Support. You will contribute to the delivery of a number of financial and management accounting related activities and business improvement initiatives in the delivery of best practice financial management services across Information Services.

As a Principal Finance Officer you will:
- Oversee all aspects of financial operational functions in relation to accounts payable, accounts receivable, assets, general ledger reconciliation, purchasing and contracts management for ICT related activities.
- Provide monthly, quarterly and end of financial year forecasting, reporting analysis and variance reporting in terms of revenue, expenditure, FTEs and activity highlighting relevant variances to assist in decision making by senior management within a complex ICT environment.
- Critically analyse, proactively addressing risks and issues, and provide recommendations to clients and stakeholders to facilitate delivery of projects within timeframe, scope and budget constraints.
- Proactively take lead in providing timely financial accounting advice, financial analysis of procurement activities and contracts as required.
- Assist the manager in the annual budget build process for both operating and capital for Unify and liaise with key stakeholders for ongoing review of budget allocation and preparation of budget adjustments.
- Co-ordinate, contribute to and support the Manager in preparation of complex reports, business cases, funding submissions, briefing notes and correspondence on a range of financial management and budgeting issues.
- With a strong understanding of the department's ICT environment and priorities, develop and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders that are based on open communications with a focus on mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Maintain complex excel based models and analyse large datasets to deliver timely and accurate reconciliations with meaningful and insightful variance commentary.
- Provide expertise in analysis and reporting activities that will support business improvements and efficiencies in the tools and processes used in Information Services.
Your technical requirements
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similar or work experience in this area, would be highly regarded. Experience in the use of SAP EEC6, S/4Hanna and SAS will be an advantage.
