We are looking for an experienced Senior Executive Support Officer (AO5) on a fulltime permanent basis to support the Queensland Chief Scientist. In this role, no two days are the same. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the
Chief Scientist’s office, while working closely with administration and support officers and supportive colleagues at all levels across the business unit.

As the Senior Executive Support Officer (AO5) you will:
- Provide high-level executive and administrative support to the Queensland Chief Scientist, including diary management, meeting coordination and correspondence.
- Prepare, review and coordinate briefing materials, meeting papers and other documentation.
- Manage competing priorities and deadlines while ensuring the Chief Scientist is well prepared for meetings, events and engagements.
- Liaise professionally with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives across government.
- Work collaboratively with other administration and business support officers within the branch to ensure seamless operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
We are seeking someone who:
- Is highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrates strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Has excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Works well both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Maintains professionalism, discretion and sound judgement when handling sensitive information.
- Enjoys supporting senior leaders and contributing to meaningful work.
