We are seeking a dedicated teacher who bring patience and emotional resilience, with the ability to remain calm, consistent, and supportive in complex, high-needs environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy and compassion, values each student's unique learning journey, and is flexible and adaptable in responding to individual needs. Strong relationship-building skills are essential, along with a nurturing approach grounded in high expectations, and a commitment to reflective practice and continuous improvement.
You will have access to professional development in areas such as behaviour support, AAC, and trauma-informed practice, alongside ongoing mentoring, structured planning time, and opportunities to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. The role involves working creatively with students with diverse needs, building strong family partnerships, and supporting communication, social skills, and early academics in a highly rewarding, community-focused Gympie setting.

Essential Requirements
- Experience (or strong capability) in differentiated teaching and personalised learning
- Knowledge of Australian Curriculum General Capabilities and Prep-Year 2 Curriculum
- Experience in a special education setting or with diverse learning needs (e.g. ASD, intellectual disability, complex behaviours
- Experience working with individual curriculum plans (ICPs)
- Knowledge of sensory regulation strategies
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems
- Training in frameworks such as Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) or trauma-informed practice

- Full or provisional QCT registration
- Australian working rights or valid visa
