About us:
Allied Health Services operationally support the Allied Health clinicians across the rural facilities of Atherton, Mareeba, Innisfail, Tully, Mossman, Herberton and Babinda Hospital. Both the Tablelands and Mossman, and Cassowary Allied Health teams are multidisciplinary teams of Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Speech Pathologists, Allied Health Assistants, and Administration Support Officers.

About your role:
This is a rewarding opportunity to shape the future of rural allied health. In this role, you will champion and support high‑quality rural clinical education across Cairns Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS), building capability and confidence in pre‑entry students, Allied Health Rural Generalist Trainees, early‑career practitioners, allied health assistants, and current and emerging supervisors.
You will collaborate with a diverse network of clinicians, leaders, educators, universities and training partners, and actively contribute to interprofessional rural education networks to strengthen workforce development and clinical supervision across the region.
About your opportunity:
- Deliver quality allied health clinical educator services utilising high level knowledge, expertise and skill as part of the multi-professional team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards and with a focus on evidence-based practice.
- Contribute to the capacity of the allied health service to ensure appropriate levels of resource allocation and service delivery across rural sites. This position may involve travel across rural sites within CHHHS as guided by service demands, agreement of relevant senior staff and as directed by the rural Directors.
- Actively participate in initiating, developing, implementing, and evaluating quality and service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of rural allied health services with reference to student clinical education. Facilitating this function through further professional development relevant to clinical and educational responsibility, contributing to skills development and clinical research activities.
