About the role

The purpose of this role is to assist the Stream Lead of the Forensic Mental Health and the Military and Veterans' Mental Health research stream to deliver a state-wide research program at the Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research (QCMHR). The role features technical, research, education and management responsibilities.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Research leadership skills with an emphasis on research operation and project management, including data management, quality assurance, evaluation, and staff training.
  • Leadership skills and advanced ability to coordinate project initiatives within a complex system of research networks with a range of key stakeholders across government departments.
  • Specialised mental health research knowledge, expertise and skill, as demonstrated by a track record of research productivity (e.g. academic publications, reports, competitive grants and Higher Degree Student Supervision).
  • Ability to provide high level judgement and advice on mixed methods research methodologies in Forensic Mental Health and/or Military and veterans' mental health fields.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • A postgraduate qualification from a recognised tertiary institution in the field of public health, psychiatry, social sciences, biostatistics, behavioural sciences, or a related field is essential.
  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
