Principal Data Project Officer

Health and Wellbeing Queensland is seeking a Principal Data Project Officer to lead a discrete component of a two-year Queensland Supply Chain Optimisation: Reducing Waste and Redistributing Nutrition Project.

This cross-government initiative aims to address food waste, nutrition, and food security challenges across the state.

You will provide expert leadership in identifying, evaluating, and integrating health, nutrition, and food supply chain datasets to inform innovative mapping and policy solutions.

You will lead stakeholder engagement, establish data governance agreements, and deliver high-quality analysis to support evidence-based decision-making.

This is a unique opportunity to drive meaningful change for Queensland communities by optimising supply chains and improve health and sustainability outcomes.

Your opportunity
As the Principal Data Project Officer you will be involved in:

  • Providing expert advice on relevant data and datasets, including sources, custodians, and access requirements, to support effective data management, governance and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Leading engagement with data custodians to develop and implement appropriate agreements, permissions, and approvals that enable project use and ensure compliance with data governance standards.
  • Critically assessing the limitations, strengths, and appropriateness of datasets to ensure alignment with project objectives to support decision-making.
