About us:

The Theodore Multipurpose Health Service located 229km southwest of Rockhampton, is part of the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. Theodore is situated on the Leichhardt Highway between the junction of Castle Creek and the Dawson River.

The Theodore Multipurpose Health Service is a 10-bed facility that provides a range of health services to the community, including emergency, inpatients and outpatients, residential aged care and telehealth services.

About the role:

  • Provide nursing care based on the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council National Competency Standards to a group of patient/clients in collaboration with health service providers.
  • Work within scope of practice to assume responsibility for delivering competent, evidence-based nursing care. The position works collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and reliable care is provided within the dynamic health environments of Central Queensland Health's facilities.
  • Possess a satisfactory knowledge base, accountability for practice, and function in accordance with legislation affecting nursing, and the protection of patients' rights.
  • Encourage effective learning and development for fellow staff through creating an environment that supports effective education and professional development of self and others from novice to advanced practitioners.

About you:

  • Registered Nurse qualification with a registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) are mandatory for this position.
  • Experience in Emergency Nursing, Rural Nursing with up-to-date Advanced Life Support and IV Cannulation would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, policies, and procedures relevant to contemporary nursing practice and specific to area of practice. 
  • Skills and knowledge to assist in planning, resource management and development of self and others. 
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality clinical services. 

What we offer:

  • An hourly rate between $53.73 - $68.92 p.h. (Including 25% casual loading)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
