Cytology at Pathology Queensland Central (RBWH) provides a comprehensive statewide gynaecological (cervical) cytology service, along with a non-gynaecological cytology service to on-site hospitals and a central referral service to laboratories across Queensland and internationally. Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to screen and where authorised, report and validate gynaecological and non-gynaecological cytology preparations.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake, or rapidly acquire the skills to undertake, cytology specimen preparation, assessment, diagnostic testing and related duties both within the preparatory laboratory and at external clinical units.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively within a team environment to achieve the goals of the work unit.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to actively participate in and contribute to continuing education and other professional development activities.
