Are you looking for an opportunity to apply your engineering expertise in a healthcare environment? We are seeking a Biomedical Engineer to join the Biomedical Technology Services team within Clinical Support Queensland. Current vacancies are available in Townsville and the Gold Coast, with potential future opportunities on the Sunshine Coast. In this role, you will provide biomedical engineering services to support the safe and effective use and management of healthcare technology across Queensland Health. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of medical equipment and systems while contributing to patient safety and quality healthcare outcomes.

What you'll do

In this role you will:

  • Provide biomedical engineering services to support the safe use and management of healthcare technology
  • Perform maintenance, repairs, installation and testing of medical equipment
  • Provide technical advice and engineering support to clinical and operational staff
  • Assist with the evaluation, procurement and commissioning of healthcare technology
  • Support incident investigations, risk assessments and quality improvement activities
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across Queensland Health

 

About you

We are searching for someone who:

  • Holds a recognised four-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Biomedical or related discipline) recognised by Engineers Australia
  • Is eligible for or working towards professional registration (RPEQ)
  • Has experience or knowledge in biomedical engineering or healthcare technology
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Communicates effectively and works well in a team environment
