About the role

Reporting to the Senior Administration Officer or Supervisor, the AO3 Administration Officer provides high‑quality administrative and clerical support within hospital and corporate service settings. Responsibilities may include reception, admissions, ward administration, referral management, scheduling, switchboard, or other front‑line and non‑front‑line functions.

You will use effective communication and strong attention to detail to manage correspondence, maintain accurate records, and operate clinical and information systems with integrity. The role requires the ability to prioritise tasks, exercise discretion when handling confidential information, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Be responsible for the provision of timely, accurate and efficient correspondence, including the ability to proofread, correct grammar, format letters, and reply to emails.
  • Perform a wide range of administrative duties that may include front-line facing or front-line support. This can include (but is not limited to) reception, admissions, referral centre, scheduling, revenue, ward administration, emergency department, call centre and switchboard services.
  • Some roles may perform confidential secretariat functions including preparation and distribution of agendas and relevant documents.
  • Utilise and accurately manage clinical and information database systems with integrity.
