The Role
As a valued member of a supportive and high-performing team, you will work closely with the Director-General (DG), providing administrative and project support that enables the smooth and effective operation of the office. In this pivotal role, you will lead key responsibilities including managing the DG's diary and email correspondence, providing secretariat and administrative support, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to support the department's strategic priorities while developing your skills in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Key Accountabilities:
• Provide confidential secretarial and executive support in a fast-paced, sensitive environment.
• Manage the DG's diary, correspondence and emails, including proactive allocation and redirection.
• Coordinate responses to requests for information and prepare timely, high-quality briefing materials.
• Build productive relationships across the department, the Minister's Office and other agencies.
• Manage travel arrangements, itineraries, bookings and expense reconciliation.
• Maintain systems and databases that support business improvement and innovation.
• Undertake research, analysis and ad hoc projects, and share knowledge across the Executive Officer network.

About You:
You bring strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organisation and sound judgement. You can manage competing priorities, maintain discretion, and build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Previous experience supporting a senior executive, managing complex diaries and correspondence, and using government systems will be highly regarded, as will your willingness to learn.There are no mandatory requirements for this role.
