What your day could look like
As a Registered Nurse in Maternity, you'll play a vital role in supporting safe, respectful and woman‑centred care for families across the region. Working alongside midwives, doctors and allied health professionals, you'll help deliver care that puts dignity, trust and outcomes first.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering high‑quality nursing care that supports women and babies across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal settings
- Working in partnership with families and the multidisciplinary team to support informed decision‑making and positive care experiences
- Applying clinical judgement and evidence‑based practice to promote safety, comfort and wellbeing
- Contributing to service improvements that strengthen continuity of care and community trust
Let's talk about you!
You're a nurse who brings both skill and heart to your work. You value relationships, stay calm when it counts, and take pride in providing care that respects every individual's journey. You're motivated by making a genuine difference for families and contributing to a service where compassion and integrity are lived every day.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Experience delivering safe, person‑centred care in acute or maternity-related settings
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- A commitment to professional development and reflective practice
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in rural or regional health settings and/or postgraduate study relevant to maternity or women's health.
Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage—helping shape safe, meaningful care for families and communities.
