What your day could look like

As a Midwife Educator, you'll play a key role in building a confident, capable midwifery workforce. From uplifting early‑career practitioners to strengthening safe clinical practice, you'll collaborate with a passionate team committed to improving outcomes for families across our health service.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Designing education that strengthens evidence‑based midwifery practice and promotes safe, high‑quality care.
  • Leading and supporting midwives through professional development, coaching, and clinical guidance.
  • Driving meaningful improvements by evaluating programs and shaping future learning initiatives.
  • Bringing fresh ideas that foster innovation, reflective practice, and a culture of continual growth.

Let's Talk About You

You're someone who blends compassion with capability, and you're energised by helping others grow. You lead with integrity, think critically, and create learning experiences that truly matter. You take pride in shaping confident clinicians, strengthening safe care, and supporting a team that stands by dignity, innovation and courage every day.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Current registration as a Registered Midwife with relevant authority to practise.
  • Advanced midwifery knowledge and experience in contemporary education and clinical support.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, mentor and guide others.
  • Confidence in coordinating learning programs and evaluating their impact.

You'll stand out if you have experience in regional settings and/or postgraduate studies in midwifery or education.

Most importantly, you're passionate about developing others, committed to meaningful impact, and ready to embrace the opportunities of regional practice—supporting care that reflects the values we live by: compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage.
