As a Housekeeping and Hospitality Attendant (Steward), you will provide high-quality accommodation, cleaning, and catering services to the Vice Regal family and support formal events and functions.

Job details

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general and specialist cleaning of Government House, including heritage-listed areas and fragile items (e.g., silver, antiques, artworks).
• Deliver formal food and beverage service, including silver service, plated service, and barista-quality coffee preparation.
• Provide laundry and valet services, including pressing linen, minor sewing repairs, and leather polishing.
• Assist with event setup, including furniture relocation and banquet arrangements.
• Maintain the Heritage Collection and prepare small floral arrangements.
• Adhere to work health and safety procedures and established protocols.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in cleaning, housekeeping, and laundry activities.
• Knowledge of formal food and beverage service styles (e.g., silver service) is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail, initiative, and ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Physical capability to perform tasks such as carrying trays, moving furniture, and making beds.
• Basic understanding of protocol, etiquette, and social customs when interacting with dignitaries and guests.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a high degree of confidentiality.
• A high standard of grooming and presentation.
