As we progress toward Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032, 2026 marks a pivotal year for high performance sport. QAS‑supported programs will play a critical role in preparing athletes for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, alongside a series of major international competitions, including World Championships.

The High Performance Manager will support the QAS Development Team programs across Women's Football, Rugby Sevens, and Hockey (men's and women's). Working in close partnership with key sport stakeholders, the role is responsible for contributing to the delivery of high‑quality outcomes aligned with athlete development pathways. We are seeking a driven and collaborative professional with exceptional communication and relationship‑building capabilities.

The successful candidate will work closely with relevant NSOs/SSOs and program staff to ensure organisational KPIs for Development Team programs are achieved.

Whilst the role is currently aligned to team‑sport programs, demonstrated high performance experience in Women's Football, Rugby Sevens and/or Hockey will be considered an advantage - it is not essential. We are seeking an individual with substantial experience in delivering high performance outcomes and the capability to effectively support, understand, and constructively challenge coaches and performance support teams as they work toward ambitious goals.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Build strong, high-impact relationships with athletes, coaches, and performance support teams to develop effective athlete and program plans that are aligned with NSO ‘What It Takes To Win' frameworks and drive medal success.
  • Collaborate to drive open, consistent, and honest communication across NSOs, SSOs, QAS, and system partners to track progress and achieve agreed objectives.
  • Lead and manage QAS high performance sport programs, facilitate performance team meetings, promote effective interdisciplinary collaboration and ensure strategic resource investment.
  • Support coach development by actively engaging in performance reviews, shaping development plans and professional growth across the high-performance network.
  • Partner with coaches and performance support staff to monitor athlete performance, solve challenges, and refine training plans using actionable performance insights.

The QAS is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all athletes, children and young people that are involved in QAS supported sport programs.

We are committed to an environment where athletes from any background are heard, treated fairly and free from abuse.

More information regarding the QAS Safeguarding Statement of Commitment can be found on our website (https://www.qasport.qld.gov.au/about-qas/sport-integrity).
