About the role
As a Senior Physiotherapist, you will provide advanced physiotherapy assessment and intervention for neonates and children with respiratory, neurological, developmental and orthopaedic conditions. You will work independently across multiple clinical settings including the neonatal unit, paediatric ward, maternity ward and outpatient clinics, while also contributing to the wider physiotherapy service through education, service improvement, and adult physiotherapy coverage as required.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Ability to independently deliver a high level of physiotherapy using advanced level knowledge, skills and experience in neonatal and paediatric physiotherapy, including management of neurological, developmental, orthopaedic, and respiratory conditions across neonatal unit, paediatric ward, maternity ward and outpatient clinics.
- The ability to administer and interpret the General Movements Assessment (GMA), the Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination (HINE), and other appropriate standardized outcome measures.
- Confidently manage a complex caseload independently.
- Ability to discharge plan and identify children requiring ongoing support.
