The role:
You will be responsible for engaging and communicating effectively with stakeholders at every level (Director, Data Manager, Team Lead, Clinicians, and end users) when required to make sure a complete implicit understanding of the business is known.
You will need to proactively encourage key difficult discussions with the right stakeholders in order to fully comprehend the important aspects of the client's needs and making sure all facets are examined from all angles. This will be important for interpreting and translating technical possibilities into clinical suitability.
Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for capturing and analysing “As-Is” and “To-Be” business processes models and capturing the business requirements to ensure traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle. You will ensure requirements are captured and addressed in the transition of the service from Project to Business As usual whilst providing Business Analysis functions at the Program level, as and when required.
Additionally, you will contribute to an effective client focused team and work collaboratively to initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders.
Are you right for this role?
To be successful in this role, you must have demonstrated experience performing business analysis activities within IM/ICT projects preferably in the health care industry. You will also have experience with managing stakeholder relationships throughout the project delivery lifecycle, in addition to experience in capturing and analysing “As-Is' and ‘To-Be' business process models across large organisations, eliciting and documenting business and software requirement specifications.
You will have the proven ability to work within a team environment, developing effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders including mentoring other business analysts within the organisation. Proven effective consultation, facilitation, written and oral communication skills for use in a project environment is essential.
You will also be a self-motivated problem solver, who has proven experience in driving pragmatic decision making and delivering a wide range of documentation to meet the needs of the target audience.
A high level of knowledge of and the ability to provide advice on the application of appropriate business analysis techniques, methodologies and tools, preferably aligned with Business Analysis Body of Knowledge Version 3.0 (BABOK).
About Better Hospital Flow (BHF) Project:
The Queensland Government is investing in improved hospital services through real-time data and targeted technology upgrades under the Health Plan Commitment. A key priority action is Better Hospital Flows (GEC124), which focuses on modernising digital systems to improve hospital workflows, patient flow and visibility of bed availability across the state. Delivery of GEC124 is being progressed through two related initiatives:
- Project 3a, which focuses on enhancements to the Statewide Management Information System (SWMIS) to improve the timeliness, quality and consistency of core operational data; and
- Project 3b, which focuses on the assessment, planning and implementation of a statewide Patient Flow Insights capability that translates operational data into actionable insights.
Government Election Commitment (GEC) 124 – Better Hospital Flows – Project 3b comprises two phases: Phase 1 - Assessment and Phase 2 - Implementation.
This role relates to Project 3b: Assessment and Implementation and hereafter refers to it as the “project”.
