About the role
The Health Practitioner – Advanced (Consumer and Carer Experience) provides strategic and operational leadership to enhance consumer and carer‑centred practice across Metro North Mental Health. Working within the Clinical Governance Unit, the role leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives that strengthen consumer and carer engagement, feedback processes, and experience outcomes.
Drawing on advanced professional expertise as a Social Worker, Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist, the role supports interdisciplinary teams through consultation, education, supervision, and capability development. It plays a critical leadership role in embedding evidence‑informed, recovery‑oriented, and culturally safe practices, including “partnering with consumers” in line with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (Standard 2).
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide specialised advice and guidance to staff across MNMH to enhance the quality and consistency of consumer and carer experiences.
- Lead and support support interdisciplinary teams in delivering consumer and carer-centred care, utilising negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills to address complex service delivery issues.
- Lead and influence the redesign of processes and systems to improve consumer and carer experience responsiveness across MNMH, collaborating across disciplines, services, and stakeholders.
- Maintain and uphold the confidentiality of consumer and carer information in accordance with the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011, modelling and supporting adherence to privacy and professional standards.
