The Caseload Midwife will work predominately from the Goondir Health precinct to deliver comprehensive evidence-based midwifery care in collaboration with Medical ,Midwifery and Nursing team at St George Hospital. You will also work in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families within a continuity of midwifery care group practice model.  This midwifery collaborative initiative involves the South West Hospital and Health Service and Goondir Health Service working together to co-deliver comprehensive maternity services tailored to the community's needs.

The Caseload Midwife is responsible for delivering direct midwifery care in an ‘all risk' model whilst providing support and education to other team members. The Caseload Midwife practices autonomously within the multidisciplinary team to provide midwifery services within a rural/remote health service setting.

St George is a designated Remote Area Nursing Incentive Package (RANIP) site in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award – State 2015. This attracts additional entitlements which may include:

  • An annual isolation bonus paid annually!
  • Return airfares to the nearest provincial city in conjunction with leave!
  • Additional annual leave per annum!
