About the opportunity  

Provide high level executive support to the Service Group Director and Medical Director of the Medical Service Group. Lead a team of administrative officers to provide a support function to the Medical Service Group Management Team.

This is a temporary full-time position up to 09/05/2027.  PLEASE NOTE  - there is a possibility of an additional 12 months extension.

Role requirements

  • Whilst not mandatory, a qualification in Business Administration (or equivalent) and experience as a secretarial support at a senior level would be highly regarded.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.

  • Salary range: $3586.00 - $3950.80 p.f. (AO4)
  • 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • Locality allowance
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to provide effective management and supervision to a team.
  • Actively reflects on own performance as a leader and assumes responsibility for engaging in learning and growth.
  • Continually monitors and improves, celebrates achievements and holds self and others accountable for individual and service outcomes.
  • Experience in providing administrative support to senior management and/or a team.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • High level of communication skills required for report writing, advice, negotiation, problem solving and decision making.
  • Is approachable, listens well, presents ideas and issues clearly, and participates in difficult conversations with honesty and respect.
  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office and ability to acquire knowledge of other computer programs.
