Your new opportunity
Join Queensland Treasury as Executive Director, Health and Care, and lead a high performing team at the centre of whole-of-government decision making. In this influential role, you will provide expert analysis and strategic advice on complex policy, fiscal and economic matters affecting Queensland's health and care system.

You will drive innovation in the use of data and analytics, strengthen client-focused service delivery, and represent Treasury in high-level negotiations across government, industry and the community. This is a rare opportunity to shape priorities, improve services and deliver fiscally responsible outcomes with lasting impact.

In this role, you will work in the following areas:
Strategic leadership and delivery: lead a high-performing team focused on delivering quality analysis, timely project execution, and fostering a client-centred culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Policy, fiscal and economic advice: provide expert authoritative advice on complex fiscal and economic matters to senior officials including the Under Treasurer, Treasurer, and Cabinet, supporting informed government decisionmaking.
Stakeholder engagement and representation: building and maintaining strong relationships across government, industry and community sectors is essential for advancing economic data use and advocating Queensland's interests in negotiations and consultations.

What experience you will bring:
Leadership and integrity: You lead with strong judgement, integrity and professionalism, bringing strong ethics and probity to every decision. You thrive in a fast moving environment, staying agile as priorities shift, and you have a proven record of leading in large, complex organisations, delivering results while motivating and inspiring high-performing teams.
Strategic and technical capability: You bring strong economic, financial and fiscal policy capability, with a track record of developing and implementing complex policy frameworks and translating analysis into clear, decision-ready advice. You also deliver complex initiatives end to end with a sharp value-for-money focus, strong contract and risk management, and a practical commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
Influence and relationships: You communicate with impact and credibility, bringing strong negotiation skills and political acumen to influence at senior levels and build trusted relationships across government. You are skilled at navigating complex stakeholder environments, bringing people together, building confidence, and shaping outcomes across government, industry and investors.

Experience across public, private and/or not-for-profit sectors in health and care (or related sectors), including public policy development, will be highly valued.

Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
