About the opportunity

Queensland Health delivers healthcare to more than five million people across the state, with a record $33.1 billion investment in the 2025-26 financial year to ensure high‑quality, culturally safe, and accessible care.

Hospital and Health Boards (HHBs) lead and oversee public health services across 16 regions. These Boards play a critical role in ensuring services reflect the needs, priorities, and voices of the communities they serve, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

To strengthen cultural governance and embed evidence-based community-led decision-making, Queensland Health is seeking First Nations representatives to join Hospital and Health Boards.

These Boards are accountable to the Minister for Health and Ambulance Services and must perform the functions in accordance with the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011.

Hospital and Health Board members are remunerated, non-executive positions.
