Your new role:
As a Respiratory Scientist, you will deliver high-quality respiratory investigation services across multiple Metro South facilities, working within an interprofessional healthcare team. You'll play a key role in patient assessment, diagnostic testing, and ongoing care, while developing your clinical skills under the guidance of experienced senior staff.
In this role, you will:
- Perform routine respiratory diagnostic testing using specialised equipment in line with clinical guidelines
- Assist with more complex investigations under supervision as your experience grows
- Manage a clinical caseload, including patient assessment, testing, and documentation
- Work collaboratively with clinicians and allied health professionals to deliver patient-centred care
About you:
You are a motivated and patient-focused early-career professional with a strong foundation in physiology and a passion for respiratory science. You enjoy working in a collaborative healthcare environment and are committed to continuous learning and high-quality clinical care.
You'll bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor of Science or equivalent with a physiology focus)
- Foundational knowledge of respiratory diagnostic techniques and equipment
- The ability to follow clinical protocols and deliver safe, effective patient care
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams

About us:
The Respiratory Laboratory is a clinical unit of the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine. It provides both routine and specialist diagnostic testing services in a timely and efficient manner to ensure quality health care delivery to all consumers. The Respiratory Laboratory is accredited by the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, and provides education and training for registrars, health practitioners, post graduate students, nursing staff and medical students.
