Your new role:

This role provides specialist Anaesthesia clinical care to patients & assumes overall responsibility for patient care, including inpatient & outpatient consultation, participation in the on-call roster, elective & or emergency procedures & participation in multidisciplinary clinics & meetings.

Key functions include:

  • Providing specialist clinical services & professional leadership within Anaesthetics & the Perioperative area across MSH
  • Delivering high quality inpatient & outpatient care, including on-call participation
  • Performing elective &/or emergency procedures
  • Supervising & teaching junior medical staff & students & other health care

About you:

  • This role will involve the provision of anaesthesia related services as determined by the needs of Princess Alexandra Hospital & Redland Hospital. This may involve services in, but is not limited to:
    • Main Operating theatres
    • Obstetric anaesthesia (Bayside)
    • Paediatric anaesthesia (Bayside)
    • Pre-Admission Clinic
    • Acute Pain Service
    • Endoscopy suite
    • Cardiac Catheter laboratories (PAH)
    • Radiology Department
    • Day Surgery Procedure Unit (PAH)

Redland Hospital:

Redland Hospital is the major health centre for adults & children in the Redlands & Brisbane's southern bayside suburbs. We provide a range of services including emergency care, primary health & minor injury care, acute & subacute medicine, general surgery, maternity & paediatric, mental specialist outpatient & mental health care.

Princess Alexandra Hospital:

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health & surgical services, including liver & kidney transplant.

We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management & organ transplants & are one of Australia's leading academic & research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
