About the role

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Women's and Newborn Services, with a professional reporting line to the Nursing and Midwifery Director, this role provides advanced clinical expertise, leadership, and systems development to enhance preventative health practices across the antenatal care continuum.

As the Supporting Healthier Pregnancies Program Facilitator, you will lead the development of pathways and capability that support earlier engagement with antenatal care, improved identification of women with health risks or vulnerabilities, and enhanced screening linked to ongoing support services. You will work across professional and organisational boundaries to influence policy, service design, and models of care, contributing to innovation, reform, and evidence-based practice at both service and state levels.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting midwifery practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge, experience and clinical skills within Health and Hospital Services and at the state level through continuous environmental scanning to ensure community priorities are addressed using the best available evidence.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills, and expert midwifery clinical judgement.
