This role provides strategic leadership and operational direction for safety across TMR.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Leading the development, review, and implementation of a robust and integrated Safety Management System.
• Leading the development and implementation of organisational health and safety programs and initiatives that optimise and continuously improve the health and safety performance across the department and ensure legislative obligations are met.
• Leading the governance and assurance process and having oversight of safety performance, including continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen organisational maturity.
• Developing and maintain highly effective collaborative relationships with: Internal stakeholders to ensure WHS strategies are aligned to the department's needs. External stakeholders with a view of keeping abreast of best practice and developing strategic alliances for delivery of effective and efficient safety programs.
• Ensuring the provision of effective, consistent and timely performance metrics and reporting which drive strategic decisions and direction.
• Preparing briefing material and reports for senior departmental officers on complex organisational health and safety issues and proposals.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Requirements of the role
Comprehensive knowledge of safety management in TMR or a similar organisation and demonstrated safety leadership experience. Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of safety programs through excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to lead a diverse team of professionals, build individual team members' capability and fostering/contributing to a healthy and inclusive team culture.
