About the Team

The Children's Health Queensland STORK (Simulation Training Optimising Resuscitation for Kids) Statewide Simulation Service oversees and drives paediatric critical care and resuscitation education through simulation and other contemporary educational techniques. STORK aims to establish a Centre of Excellence in Paediatric Emergency and Resuscitation Education and in doing so, improve the care of children with serious illness/injury or unexpected deterioration throughout the state.

About the Role

The Simulation Coordinator provides coordination, assistance, and support to Faculty, Clinical or Simulation Educators, and other stakeholders involved in the delivery of educational simulation activities within the Children's Health Queensland Simulation Training Optimising Resuscitation for Kids (STORK) programs.

The Simulation Coordinator works in partnership with the relevant education team to plan, facilitate, and evaluate simulation-based learning opportunities. This position is permanent, part-time (0.5FTE / 38 hours per fortnight).

Autonomy

  • Practices collaboratively with the STORK Simulation Nurse Educator.
  • Provides educational guidance in clinical decision making to give and/or coordinate care to particular patients.
  • Assumes responsibility of education for a service or unit in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 (NG7), seeking advice from the STORK Simulation Medical Specialists as required.
  • Applies critical thinking across all the domains.
