We are seeking an experienced Manager Legal Services to join the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) within the senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be empowered to lead the corporate legal function of the Residential Tenancies Authority. In addition to this, the role is responsible for leading and managing the work outcomes of a small, high-performing legal team.
This position is a permanent, full-time role and is located in the Brisbane CBD.

As the Manager, Legal Services within the RTA's Financial Assurance Services division, you will lead a high-performing multidisciplinary Legal team and champion best practice legal service delivery. In this key leadership role, you will provide expert, solutions focused advice across a broad range of legal, compliance and legislative matters. You will also play a critical role in supporting the RTA's enforcement activities, including providing advice and leading litigation to support prosecutions and other enforcement activities.
To be successful you will need:
- Proven leadership experience within a legal services environment, with the ability to guide, coach and empower a team of legal professionals
- Strong expertise in contract management, including the oversight and negotiation of complex commercial and IT agreements
- Well-developed skills in statutory interpretation and the practical application of legislation in a regulatory context
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities, with a collaborative approach to building effective working relationships
- A track record of leading and managing complex legal matters, providing strategic insight and high-quality advice.
