About us:
Our Perioperative Unit, located in block seven of the West Wing at Gladstone Hospital, includes two operating rooms and a procedure room supporting both elective and emergency surgery. Services also encompass Day Surgery, a Pre-Anaesthetic Clinic, and the Central Sterilisation Service Department, with care guided by established patient care standards and ongoing clinical research.
The Day Surgery Unit operates from 6:45am to 7:00pm to support theatre activity and safe patient discharge. Positioned near Recovery, the unit includes three beds and five chairs to accommodate patients throughout the day.
About the role:
We're looking for motivated Clinical Nurses with experience in anaesthetics, instrument and circulating roles, or Post-Anaesthesia Care to join our dynamic theatre team. This role offers the chance to work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and even step up as the theatre floor co-ordinator.
In this fast-paced, hands-on role, you'll:
- Coordinate the theatre floor alongside the Nurse Unit Manager
- Work directly with Surgeons and Anaesthetists to manage elective and emergency surgeries
- Organise and schedule emergency cases efficiently
- Liaise with Day Surgery and duty managers to keep lists running smoothly
- Use ORMIS to manage theatre computer systems
- Participate in the on-call roster
- Maintain your professional portfolio
About you:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
- Develop, facilitate, implement and evaluate specialist education for patients/clients/residents, families and clinical staff in response to identified and emerging needs.
- Maintain a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, working effectively with individuals, groups and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $11,604 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $57.48 - $61.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
