You will lead the Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Unit, Office of the Chief Health Officer and Deputy Director-General, Private Health Regulation Unit and Strategic Projects Unit ensuring robust, risk‑based regulation, strong governance, and effective cross‑divisional coordination.

Reporting to the Chief Health Officer and Deputy Director‑General, Population Health Division, you will provide authoritative advice to senior executives and Government on complex regulatory, policy and system issues, including emerging risks and reform opportunities across the private health and ART sectors.

You will lead and empower a multidisciplinary workforce, oversee significant strategic initiatives and programs, and build strong partnerships across government, Hospital and Health Services, and the community sector to support integrated, system‑level outcomes. This role plays a critical part in protecting public safety, strengthening confidence in regulatory frameworks, and enabling the delivery of Queensland Health's public health priorities.

  • Demonstrated experience leading high‑performing, multi‑disciplinary teams within complex and sensitive operating environments.

  • Exceptional ability to provide clear, authoritative advice to senior executives and Government, supported by strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven capability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders, often within environments of competing priorities and significant public interest.
  • Sound judgement and governance capability, with the ability to identify emerging risks, assess system‑wide impacts, and develop practical, evidence‑based solutions.
  • A collaborative leadership style that builds enduring relationships and partnerships across government, non‑government and community stakeholders.
  • A strong commitment to the Queensland Public Service values, fostering an inclusive, respectful and high‑performing workplace culture.
