Your new role:
As the Nurse Manager – Patient Transport, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure safe, efficient and clinically appropriate patient transport services across Metro South Health. You will:
- Lead and manage patient transport operations, including discharge, inter-hospital and interstate transfers, ensuring optimal patient flow and service delivery
- Provide expert clinical advice, leadership and support to multidisciplinary teams to enable best-practice patient transport outcomes
- Oversee financial, contractual and resource management, including Non-Urgent Non-Ambulance (NuNa) transport services and performance reporting
- Drive continuous improvement, quality, safety and compliance initiatives aligned with organisational goals and healthcare standards
About you:
You are an experienced and motivated nursing leader with a passion for improving patient flow and delivering high-quality healthcare outcomes. You have:
- Demonstrated advanced clinical expertise in patient flow, transport logistics and healthcare systems, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proven leadership experience managing teams, resources and complex operations within a healthcare environment
- Strong capability in data analysis, financial management and driving service improvements through evidence-based practice
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and lead change across multidisciplinary teams

The Metro South Health (MSH) Patient Flow Program's (PFP) primary objective is to support the ability of the health service to maximise capacity for patient care and resource allocation by using a patient centred approach that promotes timely access to safe, quality care. This is achieved through the adaptation of contemporary and creative strategies that eliminate constraints in a patient's journey.
