The advisor will be responsible for providing operational, location based, intelligence analysis and advice as part of the case management process within the custodial setting including identification and management of prisoner discharge risks, strengthening the case management of an individual between custodial and community intelligence functions.

The advisor will:
- Strengthen case management of an individual through the establishment and maintenance of effective stakeholder relationships, both internal and external to Queensland Corrective Services.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders with the view to intelligence gathering, recording, analysis and reporting for the purpose of risk identification and management.
- Engage with QCS Intelligence Group, ensuring external stakeholder relationships are managed in accordance with existing guidelines and requirements.
- Actively participate in dissemination of intelligence information within QCS intelligence networks in accordance with legislation and QCS dissemination of information procedures.
- Effectively utilise endorsed intelligence methodology and dedicated Information Technology systems to review, consolidate compile and analyse large volumes of information from multiple sources, including human, data, and telephonic sources
- Provide relevant, accurate, evidence-based intelligence advice in a timely manner.
- Utilise endorsed and accepted formats for written and oral intelligence reporting, e.g. development of intelligence summaries, to provide intelligence advice to decision makers and QCS management with a specific focus on risk identification and minimisation contributing to effective multidisciplinary Case Management processes.
- Assist in development of intelligence plans, including collection and operational action plans.
- Prepare briefs and correspondence within set timeframes.
- Operate independently as part of a multidisciplinary team onsite in a correctional centre within a geographically diverse reporting structure.
- Contribute to the enhancement sentence and case management intelligence processes and practices, through the identification and reporting of emerging strategic trends relating to the role and function.
- Contribute to the development, improvement and implementation of operational processes and practices to address strategic trends and issues relating to SCMS intelligence functions.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of intelligence processes and procedures in a criminal justice environment or similar human services/regulatory agency.
- Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to set priorities, coordinate activities and meet deadlines in a highly reactive environment.
- Demonstrated ability to review a high volume of sensitive information and provide comprehensive analysis to inform decision making.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of complex reports and submissions, with exemplary attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage working relationships, by utilising sound communication and negotiation skills, with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Demonstrated experience and competency in the use of information management systems and analytical software including iBase and Analyst Notebook.
- Knowledge and understanding of the intelligence discipline on matters which affect the supervision of offenders on community-based orders will be highly regarded.
