We are seeking dynamic and innovative Educators to join our teaching team in the Faculty of English Language and Migrant Education to achieve outstanding results as a part of delivery of langauge learning through the Australian Migrant Education Program (AMEP).  This is a wonderful opportunity to share your education knowledge and expertise, support our students' skills and development and make a real difference.

As a TAFE Teacher in the Faculty of English Language and Migrant Education (ELME), you have the opportunity to influence the careers of future industry persons by sharing your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or other educational setting.

We have multiple positions available for Term 2, 2026 now delivering within the Australian Migrant English Program (AMEP) across TAFE Queensland’s Brisbane campus locations with ongoing requirements for teaching to continue through the end of 2026.

Positions are available for temporary full-time, part-time and casual engagements accross multiple TAFE Queensland locations with specific delivery requirements at Loganlea Campus. 

Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements

Possession of all of the following:

  • A recognised, Post Graduate Qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) qualification; and
  • A recognised Undergraduate degree (preferably in Education); and
  • Recent teaching experience in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages to adult learners in Australia.

AND

Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials: 

TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;

TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools;

TAE50111 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training;

TAE50116 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or its successor;

TAE50211 - Diploma of Training Design and Development;

TAE50216 - Diploma of Training Design and Development, or its successor;

Higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

Current knowledge and skills in English language training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided; and

current evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.

  • Educators holding overseas qualifications and living in Queensland, should contact the department's Overseas Qualification Unit to seek assistance in having their qualifications assessed and recognised in Australia.
  • Must have evidence of rights to work in Australia.
