About us:
If you're picturing a tiny rural outpost where nothing much happens – think again! Mount Morgan is serving up big variety in a small, friendly package. Just a cruisy 40 km from Rockhampton, Mount Morgan MPHS is a modern, versatile health service where no two days look the same.
Inside this neat little powerhouse are 20 inpatient beds split between acute and residential care, emergency resus bays ready for action, and consultation rooms that keep things moving. There's midwifery-led care for mums and bubs, cardiac rehab keeping hearts strong, aged care that's genuinely connected, and a co-located GP service.
Specialists roll through too (podiatry, dental, dietetics, optometry) so the whole community is looked after without needing to travel far. It's healthcare with variety, teamwork, and real impact all wrapped into one.
About the role:
As a Nurse Grade 6 (1), you don't just deliver care, you help shape it. You'll coordinate across emergency, inpatient, aged care, and community settings, meaning your day might take you anywhere (and that's half the fun!).
Bring evidence-based practice to life, keep standards high, and know when to escalate and when to trust your instincts. Become the go-to person; the one staff turn to for guidance, teaching, and support. Share your knowledge with staff, patients, and families, while also helping grow the next generation of nurses, from students to grads. This is leadership in action, not just in title.
About you:
- You take pride in delivering proper, patient-first, do-it-right care. No “tick the box” care here!
- When things get tricky you don't panic, you can think critically, act fast, and keep care centred around the person in front of you.
- Your communication game is strong. You can collaborate, negotiate, and smooth over tricky situations without turning them into drama.
- You know how to juggle it all: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care like a pro, even in a complex rural setting.
- You build real relationships. With your team, your patients, families and are the kind of person people remember (for all the right reasons!).
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $135,857 p.a. is comprised of:
