The Opportunity

An outstanding opportunity now exists for a strategic and collaborative executive to join the South West Region as Executive Director, Education and Training. This role can be based at the Ipswich or Toowoomba campus, with travel across the region required.

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will lead the education and training portfolio across a large and diverse region, shaping long-term direction, driving performance and ensuring training remains relevant, responsive and future-focused.

In this role, you will provide strategic leadership across education delivery, training quality, portfolio performance and regional planning. You will work closely with executive colleagues to develop and implement a clear long-term direction for the portfolio, aligned to workforce demand, community need and organisational priorities. The role also carries responsibility for strengthening collaboration across campuses and teams, improving consistency and accountability, and ensuring the region is well positioned to respond to changing industry and student expectations.

The Person

This role will suit a contemporary and innovative leader who can bring people together around a clear vision, strengthen alignment across teams and campuses, and translate strategy into practical outcomes. You will be visible, influential and commercially astute, with the ability to lead through complexity and build strong relationships across industry, community and government stakeholders. You will also bring the judgement to balance strategic ambition with operational discipline, ensuring high-quality outcomes for students while supporting sustainable growth and sound resource management.

The ideal candidate will have vocational education experience, or leadership experience from an adjacent complex service environment. Most importantly, you will bring executive presence, strategic capability and a strong track record of leading change, lifting performance and building high-performing teams.
