In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective pathology services across the Hervey Bay and Maryborough laboratories. You will apply scientific knowledge and skills across multiple disciplines to support diagnostic testing, ensure laboratory practices meet accreditation standards and contribute to continuous improvement and service delivery across the laboratory.

In this role you will perform diagnostic testing and result verification across multiple pathology disciplines including haematology, transfusion, chemical pathology and molecular diagnostics, provide scientific advice and technical support to clinical staff, participate in continuous shift roster services, contribute to quality and accreditation requirements, and support service improvement, research and laboratory operations across the Fraser Coast laboratories.

 

About you

We are searching for someone who:

  • Holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent)
  • Has experience working in a multidisciplinary pathology laboratory
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Has experience with laboratory information systems
  • Has strong problem-solving and scientific judgement skills
