The purpose of the position is to support the Cabinet Legislation Liaison Officer (CLLO) Manager in the provision of expert advice, coordination and support services with respect to Cabinet, Executive Council, Parliamentary and Legislative business on behalf of the department.

The duties of this position require a high level of interaction with the Director General, Ministerial staff and senior departmental executive officers on a regular basis, as well as other government agencies.

As a Principal CLLO you will:

  • Assist the CLLO Manager to provide high-quality and timely Cabinet, Parliamentary, Legislative, Executive Council and other associated specialist services to the Minister, Director-General, department and Queensland Government.
  • Assist with the planning and management of the Minister's Cabinet, Executive Council, Parliamentary and Legislative agenda.
  • Prepare and lead coordination of responses to Cabinet, Parliament, Executive Council and other related correspondence and requests, providing quality assurance and ensuring compliance with relevant department and government guidelines, procedures and directives.
  • Provide timely technical support and advice to the department to facilitate planning and development of Cabinet, Parliament, Executive Council and other related items.
  • Develop and maintain information systems, guidelines, procedures, resources and tools to ensure requests for information are responded to in a timely and efficient manner and document version control.
  • Continuously develop and maintain working knowledge of Cabinet, Parliamentary, Executive Council and other relevant protocols, processes and whole-of-government and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain positive liaison relationships with the Minister's office, within the Office of the Director-General, department and across government.
  • Ensure the secure storage, handling and dissemination of Cabinet and Executive Council records and other confidential information.
  • This role may have supervisory responsibilities. If so, you will be required to lead, coach and motivate your team through regular feedback and mentoring to support the achievement of operational objectives and personal objectives ensuring regular supervision, structured performance and development achievement planning, behaviours reflect departmental values and the Code of Conduct, team members support each other and the wider team, and a culture of higher performance and accountability. 
  • Undertake other work as directed by the CLLO Manager.
