The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is seeking a motivated Casual Assistant Operations Officer to join the Regional Operations team in Townsville. In this role, you’ll deliver exceptional customer service, assist with passenger and school transport services, process applications, maintain records, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. You’ll work collaboratively with a small team, liaise with stakeholders, and contribute to the efficient operations of the unit.

We’re looking for someone with strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. A criminal history check is required and a C class driver licence is desirable.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is seeking a motivated Casual Assistant Operations Officer to join our Regional Operations team in Townsville. This role supports the delivery of passenger and school transport services, helping to connect Queensland communities through safe, reliable, and inclusive transport solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Provide frontline customer service, assisting with enquiries, complaints and guidance.
Process transport applications, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with policies.
Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Interpret and apply legislation, policies, and procedures in daily tasks.
Demonstrate professionalism, ethical behaviour, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

About You
We're looking for someone with:
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively.
Adaptability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
A proactive and problem-solving mindset.

Requirements
Criminal History Check: Required prior to appointment.
Driver Licence: A C class licence is desirable but not mandatory.
