Working with a diverse and extensive range of internal and external business partners, your well-established experience will drive WHS improvements across the breadth of QPS's operations and people management functions. As a respected practitioner, you will guide and coach teams to deliver outcomes leading to measurable improvements in officer safety and legacy benefits. You will be an integral member of a specialist team intent on realising our vision for an embedded and positive safety culture.
Your key accountabilities:
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Effectively work within and across multidisciplinary teams, guiding and coaching team members to deliver measurable improvements in ongoing officer safety.
- Design, develop and implement a strategic approach to organisational health and safety focussing on proactive approaches to managing psychosocial hazards and risks.
- Design, implement and monitor safety management system and performance standards which establish compliance with relevant legislation relating to psychosocial risk management.
- Research, design and implement WHS systems and initiatives, practices and policies to support the psychosocial hazard and risk management framework.
- Deliver high level consultancy services and advice to managers and other QPS members to meet their obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, build capability and embed an intelligence driven approach to psychosocial hazard and risk management.
- Design and deliver programs, risk assessment tools and resources to enhance the proactive management of psychosocial hazards and achieve measurable outcomes in psychosocial safety and wellbeing.
- Foster an inclusive, equitable, ethical and safe working environment which encourages commitment, professional growth and continuous improvement.
Role Requirements:
Mandatory
- Current driver's licence (minimum C class)
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in delivering professional services that enhance worker health and safety.
- Tertiary qualifications in organisational psychology, human factors, occupational health or similar are highly desirable.
- Experience working with complex frontline, high risk or high demand work environments and applying WHS legislative and regulatory frameworks to such organisations would be distinct advantages.
- Experience in maintaining compliant safety management systems would support success in this role.
- Experience in effectively supervising high performing teams or practitioners is essential.
Other
- Intrastate travel is a requirement of this role.
