The Teacher Aide supports the daily operations of Design Technology (DT) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) facilities, assisting staff and students while maintaining workshop resources and equipment. The role may involve working across multiple departments and requires flexibility to support teaching and learning needs. The Teacher Aide reports to the relevant Head of Department, Deputy Principal, and Business Manager. This position is being offered in a Permanent capacity (0.79FTE), 60 hours per fortnight.

About the role 

As a Design Technology and Vocational Education (DT & VET) Teacher Aide, you will:

  • Prepare workshops and classrooms for practical lessons
  • Manage equipment, materials, and stock, including ordering and inventory control
  • Set up, operate, and maintain tools, machinery, and workshop spaces
  • Assist teachers with classes and practical demonstrations
  • Support basic workshop tasks, including simple fabrication and maintenance
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and well-organised working environment
  • Receive, store, and manage deliveries of equipment and materials
  • Assist with stocktakes and resource organisation
  • Maintain departmental records, safety documentation, and registers
