With branches in Rockhampton, Mackay and Barcaldine and a site office in Emerald, the Transport and Main Roads Program Delivery and Operations (PDO) Central Queensland Region (CQ Region) looks after 9076km of state-controlled roads and about 1510km of the National Road Network. This role will contribute to the development and delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP). The CQ Region covers an area of about 604,824km2, approximately 34.9% of Queensland. The region has an estimated residential population of 422,141 people.

The Role
We are seeking a highly organised and dynamic individual to join the Program Support team as a Project Support Officer. In this vital role, you will report directly to the Senior Program Advisor and play a key role in offering high-level administrative support to our diverse business units, encompassing Delivery and Operations, Technical Services, Project Planning, and Corridor Management, as well as on special projects.
As an integral member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with Fitzroy District's Program Managers, Project Managers, and Project Team Members. Your expertise will be crucial in providing business support services that aid in the effective and efficient delivery of the Queensland Transport and Road Infrastructure Program (QTRIP). Your contributions will directly influence the successful execution of projects that are critical to enhancing Queensland's transport and road infrastructure network.
Accountabilities include:
- Provide high level administrative support to achieve maximum efficiencies, accuracy, and outputs for various support functions to assist the District in delivery of QTRIP.
- Undertake a range of business and program support related activities which contribute to the delivery of the District's QTRIP.
- Contribute to the scheduling of road infrastructure projects in accordance with organisational business rules, procedures, and guidelines to meet the District's key performance indicators.
- Collect, assess, and present data for inclusion in business, finance and project related reports including monitoring the administration, project and financial activities related to the performance of infrastructure projects against established targets.
- Provide contract administration support which may include the contract establishment activities, preparation of progress payments and contract budget variations for QTRIP projects.
- Support the delivery of the district's road infrastructure program of works by providing procurement governance support to Project Managers.
- Contribute to the delivery of additional financial services including accounts payable/receivable, and monthly reconciliations.
- Use of a variety of software packages (including SAP, 3PCM, Microsoft Office Suite, LogBookMe, CTM) in support of the administration, program, and financial management of the District's QTRIP.
- Participate in local work practices to ensure compliance and consistency of activities related to supporting the delivery of QTRIP.
- Ensure operational practices, standards of service and performance comply with departmental and regional policies, legislation (incl. WH&S), and governance obligations.
