Senior Analyst and Reporting Officer

The Queensland Family and Child Commission has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Analyst and Reporting Officer to join our team.
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the design, delivery and continuous improvement of data analytics and insights that support and advance the objectives of the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Schemes, in alignment with the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 (CSO Act).
You will be responsible for collecting, analysing and transforming complex data sets into accurate, reliable and meaningful outputs, including reports, dashboards and other data visualisations.
Your work will directly support evidence regulatory decision & making, policy development, and operational performance, enabling the Commission to drive positive outcomes for children and young people across Queensland.

The Child Safe Organisations Division leads the implementation and enforcement of Queensland's Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme, promoting child safety and wellbeing through evidence‑based regulation. We support organisations to meet safeguarding obligations and strengthen system performance through data‑driven practice, collaboration, and culturally responsive design.
Within the division, the Policy & Design team ensures the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 is implemented in line with legislative intent, government priorities, and best‑practice regulatory principles. The team represents the Queensland Family and Child Commission in strategic policy forums, driving collaboration and alignment across government and regulated sectors.
In this role you will have the following responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Lead the design, development and application of data analysis methodologies to create reporting frameworks and visual dashboards, to deliver high-quality, actionable insights that drive informed business and strategic decision-making.
- Perform expert analysis activities utilising multiple data sources to extract, transform and analyse complex datasets to generate accurate, timely and meaningful insights and data sharing outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
- Present data visually for internal and/or external stakeholders and produce narrative that makes data findings consumable.
- Prepare timely reports and visual dashboards outlining findings identified from the Regulations team, including providing recommendations to mitigate risk and ensure obligations under the CSO Act are met.
- Provide high-level advice to leadership and internal and external stakeholders on data trends, performance outcomes, risks and opportunities, identifying areas for improvement and recommended solution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in data management, including data quality assurance, governance, and the use of contemporary platforms, tools, and methodologies.
- Monitor and evaluate performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying areas for improvement and supporting evidence-based decision-making.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes and advance objectives of the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Schemes aligned to the CSO Act.
