We're excited to welcome a Social Worker Senior to the Stroke Neurology Unit in our Medical Specialties Service at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

This Social Worker Senior role provides high-level social work services to patients within the acute stroke and neurology cohort, delivering comprehensive psychosocial assessment, intervention, and discharge planning in a fast-paced inpatient environment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the role supports patients experiencing sudden functional and cognitive decline, including adjustment to acquired disability, communication changes, and evolving care needs.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deliver independent high-level social work clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
- Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
- Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.
- Provide leadership oversight and clinical practice supervision to less experienced social work practitioners and students as delegated.
Remuneration value up to $157 359 p.a., comprising salary between $128 169 - $137 918 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4).
