Ayr Health Service is a 28-bed facility located in the township of Ayr, in North Queensland.
The Ayr Health Service offers general medical, surgical and obstetric services to Ayr, Home Hill and the broader Burdekin Shire. Famous for being the sugar capital of Australia, the Burdekin district is located about an hour's drive south of Townsville. Nestled in the delta of the Burdekin River, its two popular townships, Ayr and Home Hill, are linked by the iconic Burdekin Bridge and are surrounded by stunning natural beauty.
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $52.61 to $70.64 p.h. (NG5)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
- Flexible working arrangements may be available in this position
About your opportunity
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a nurse who is licensed to practice nursing without supervision and who assumes accountability and responsibility for their own actions and acts to rectify unsafe nursing practice and/or professional conduct. The RN provides direct nursing care utilising clinical skills, education and support to patients/clients and nursing staff within the unit to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.
Requirements:
Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration
- Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- Nursing: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Highly Desirable: Extensive experience in Emergency Department and a current Adult Life Support certificate.
- On-call: Appointees may be required to participate in an on-call
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
