What your day could look like
As a Senior Psychologist, you'll play a vital role in supporting children, adolescents and families to navigate complex mental health challenges. Working within a collaborative Child and Youth Mental Health team, you'll combine clinical expertise with compassion to help young people move toward recovery and wellbeing.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering thoughtful, evidence‑based psychological assessments and interventions that support recovery‑focused outcomes
- Partnering with families, schools and services to create coordinated, whole‑of‑life care pathways
- Providing clinical leadership through case consultation, supervision and service improvement initiatives
- Shaping future‑focused care by contributing ideas that strengthen quality, safety and access to services
Let's Talk About You
You're a psychologist who brings both skill and heart to your work. You value relationships, lead with integrity, and remain curious about how care can be delivered better. You take pride in helping young people and their families feel heard, supported and empowered—and you're motivated by the difference this creates in their lives and your community.
You're not just here to provide care; you're here to champion dignity, act with courage, and contribute to meaningful change across regional mental health services.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Full registration as a Psychologist in Australia
- Experience delivering evidence‑based mental health care to children and adolescents
- Confidence working collaboratively within multidisciplinary and community settings
- Strong clinical judgement, communication skills and a commitment to quality improvement
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience supervising others, contributing to service development, or working in regional or community‑based settings.
Above all, you'll bring compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage to your practice—helping shape brighter futures for young people and families across the Darling Downs.
In this role, your expertise supports recovery today while helping build stronger mental health care for tomorrow.
