What your day could look like
As a Registered Nurse, you'll play a vital role in delivering safe, responsive care to people when they need it most. Working in a fast‑paced Emergency Department, you'll be trusted to use your judgement, collaborate closely with colleagues, and help create positive patient experiences across the service.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Providing holistic, evidence‑based nursing care that supports timely recovery and wellbeing
- Partnering with doctors and multidisciplinary teams to make sound, patient‑centred decisions
- Supporting smooth patient flow by adapting to changing priorities and clinical demands
- Sharing ideas, guidance and leadership that strengthen team culture and care quality
Let's Talk About You
You're a nurse who brings capability and heart to every shift. You stay calm under pressure, communicate with clarity, and take pride in delivering care that respects each person's dignity. What motivates you most is knowing your work has real impact—supporting patients, backing your colleagues, and contributing to a service the community relies on.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration (or eligibility) as a Registered Nurse in Australia
- Solid clinical skills with a commitment to safe, high‑quality practice
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication, sound judgement, and a willingness to keep learning
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in emergency or acute care and/or postgraduate study relevant to your practice.
Above all, you'll reflect the values we live by at Darling Downs Health—Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage—bringing them to life through your care and leadership.
This role is about making a difference where it matters most, while growing your practice in a service that values you.
