The purpose of the Senior Program Approvals Officer is to facilitate and produce project and program approvals documentation for transport infrastructure investments managed and delivered by the Department of Transport and Main Roads. This will include managing the reporting requirements, and providing advice to a range of stakeholders in relation to program and project approvals for the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP).
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Develop documents including briefs and reports for senior management, the Minister and Executive Council. Documentation includes contract financial approvals, project commencement approvals and ad hoc reports
• Undertake analysis and reporting associated with the management of QTRIP
• Liaise with and provide advice to departmental staff to validate and ensure data integrity of information contained in the departmental system - 3PCM, to ensure consistency and compliance with relevant guidelines and procedures
• Maintain a working knowledge of TMR's business and system processes in relation to the QTRIP
• Coordinate and provide support in the development of the annual QTRIP, as required, including addressing ad hoc requests and analysing related information
• Actively participate in performance conversations to build and support a culture of performance improvement.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role
Requirements of the role:
• Proven ability to prepare high-quality documentation including ministerial briefs and executive reports
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise and accurate reports, and simply summarise information for non-technical audiences
• Strong stakeholder engagement and advisory skills, with the ability to influence and support decision-making within existing approvals frameworks
• Excellent organisational and coordination abilities to manage competing priorities and deliver timely outcomes
Highly desirable attributes
• Knowledge of TMR's 3PCM (Portfolio, Program, Project and Contract) system
• Knowledge of government administrative processes in relation to financial delegations, contract financial approvals and project commencement approvals.
