Step Into Your Next Chapter:
This role reports to the Manager, Communications Team, Metropolitan North Region. As the SCLO, you will have the responsibility of:
- You will provide quality advice and assistance to parents, carers and other members of the school community across the region, requiring this role to be the first point of contact for parents, carers and other community members wishing to enquire about departmental policy and guidelines.
- Take an active role in assisting community members to resolve their concerns and complaints by providing a conduit between the parents, carers and other community members.

The role of SCLO requires the following skills and capabilities:
- Listen and understand using empathy and compassion, to initial telephone contact with parents, carers and other community members' regarding concerns or complaints and refer them back to the school to negotiate a suitable outcome.
- Provide advice to parents, carers and other community members on a broad range of departmental policies and guidelines and assist them with their understanding of such policy and guidelines.
- Liaise between the parents, carers and other community members and the school, to achieve a suitable outcome and resolution of relevant issues.
- Foster open effective communication and develop relationships to enhance the likelihood of resolution of concerns between parents, carers, other community members and school personnel.
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of paperwork associated with parents, carers and other community members' contact with schools ensuring appropriate finalisation of record keeping process.
- Review progress, report on various projects, trends and action items and undertake investigation, research and analysis of sensitive and confidential matters.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in correspondence and administrative documents, assisting with the development of efficient and effective record keeping processes and reviews.
- Encourage an environment in which high quality services are delivered by continually seeking improvements in administrative systems and processes.
