Your Opportunity

Current vacancies available now for Student Engagement Officers to support with student intake assessment and progression in English Language, Literacy and Numeracy programs. 

Vacancies currently exist for commencing in term 2, 2026 at all TAFE Queensland Brisbane campuses for filling flexibly as temporary full-time, temporary part-time or casual to the end of 2026. 

As the Student Engagement Officer, you will provide leadership, direction and coordination in the assessment and academic support and guidance for AMEP/SEE clients to ensure a consistent and professional approach in the delivery of services that are responsive to the needs of clients.

This position sits in the Faculty of English Language & Migrant Education and reports to the Educational Team Leader. 

Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements

Possession of all of the following:

  • A recognised, Post Graduate Qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) qualification; 
  • A recognised Undergraduate degree (preferably in Education); 
  • Recent teaching experience in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages to adult learners in Australia.

Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials: 

  • TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
  • TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools;
  • TAE50111 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training;
  • TAE50116 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or its successor;
  • TAE50211 - Diploma of Training Design and Development;
  • TAE50216 - Diploma of Training Design and Development, or its successor;
  • Higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

Also Applicable 

  • Current knowledge and skills in English language training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided; and
  • Current evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.
