The most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experiences against these essential role requirements of the position.

  • Ability to contribute to and work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Current knowledge and interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues, trends and practices and their impact on criminal behaviour with a drive for continual learning and professional development. 
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships (particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations) including where the working relationship is at distance, in order to promote positive service outcomes. 
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to maintain effective internal and external professional partnerships. 
  • Self-awareness and ability to be a positive representative of QCS and ability to role model behaviours and attitudes in alignment with QCS values and priorities. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to produce written reports, represent QCS and contribute within forums and meetings.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of issues and information.

Mandatory requirements  

The following mandatory requirements apply to this role: 

  • The possession of a C class licence is required and will be mandatory in specific locations where it is identified as essential by the hiring panel. 
  • This position has been identified as a position to be filled by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. 

Other conditions and requirements 

There may be instances where the incumbent will be required to work hours outside the normal work hours, undertake travel to other locations, or temporarily work from an alternate location.
